Worst experience I should have learned my lesson with the botched flooring Job. This process took months which is absurd. The only communication I could get is when I would call them. When they installed the counter top they dented and scratched my stainless steel fridge. It took at least 3 months of complaining before they finally gave me a reimbursem*nt which isn't even enough to replace the fridge. We had them remove the old backsplash the guy who worked for the counter company knocked big holes in the wall, my husband said something and he was just rude and sarcastic. I walked into a mess they had their cart on my living room carpet and a filthy mess no covering put down to... Read More

Our kitchen project began last year 2022 working with a gentleman named John who was very meticulous with laying out our kitchen. We were satisfied with all of his recommendations and appreciated his patience. Our cabinets arrived 2/17/23 before work began a few weeks later and Everything arrived in good condition except for the corner cabinet which is where the the undermount sink was to be installed. There was a knick on the left back corner AND THE HOLE FOR THE SINK WAS NOT CUTOUT. It was interesting that all of the cabinets were cutout on top which we had no idea why, but the corner cabinet top was without a cutout which makes no sense. We called the Oak Brook Terrace store and spoke... Read More

I would not recommend HD. Been with a torn-up kitchen for over four months. This is for a $30K+ kitchen remodel. KraftMaid had the cabinets delivered exactly the day they promised, kudos to them. From there everything went down hill. The first installer HD sent out failed to inspect the boxed cabinets. This subcontractor just wanted to cut corners. So we had him fired. Turns out the good subcontractors are in high demand. The 2nd installer inspected the boxed cabinets and found we were short on some trim pieces. KraftMaid had them out to us within a week. KraftMaid is the best! Then it took a month to get the good sub back. He said it would take 3-days to hang our new cabinets. He was... Read More

Do not use them. First, you pre-pay for everything up front. Then -- you will be dealing with MANY people, reps, designers, etc. before you meet the builder. They don't bring records of what you have already discussed so you will frequently have to review everything. After you have paid for EVERYTHING, the builder will then demand that you sign a waiver that says they are not responsible if they crack any tile backsplash, etc. And--- they WILL CRACK YOUR TILE & do a sloppy job trying to camoflage it. Even the caulking did not give a professional appearance. And, for reasons unknown to us they managed to lose a knob from the stove. They left the kitchen absolutely FILTHY. Home Depot... Read More

I had an absolute terrible experience with them. The Home Depot assistants were extremely incompetent, uncaring, and rude. Many of the contractors had not idea what they were doing, or even if they did they did a poor job with lots of defects. It took 6 months for the dishwasher to arrive and it was so damaged it had to be returned and we still don't have a dishwasher. I would steer clear from these guys.

I am BEYOND frustrated and disappointed with the terrible customer service after hiring HD to reface my kitchen cabinets, install new countertops, backsplash and sink. Not only did the project take much longer to even begin, but never once did anyone contact me or my husband to ensure the project was going well and there were no issues. I had called on several occasions, the number I was provided and never got an answer or a call back until I physically went to my HD store and had an employee call from their store phone. Only then I was able to relay my questions and concerns. During the project, my NEW appliances were damaged. Water hose to the dishwasher ended up with a hole and dents... Read More

I still have post-traumatic stress disorder from my cabinet refacing experience with HD. We were having it done in order to put our house on the market. Twelve weeks after ordering, when refacing was all we were waiting on to have our house listed, the installer discovers half the order (we were refacing kitchen & two baths), the materials for our bathroom, were never ordered. Long story short, I spent many hours calling and emailing higher ups. Some temporary cabinet doors were put in our bathrooms (the installer had already demo'd before realizing the doors had never been ordered). Even when it was all in, one set of kitchen doors was measured wrong, several bathroom doors wouldn't... Read More

Order was placed and measurements were done by the first week of July 2021. Was told would take 8 weeks max for cabinets to arrive. It has been close to 12 weeks now and nothing! And nobody in the department answers calls or emails. This has been nothing short of a nightmare. Yet a full payment of around $10,000 was already taken up front by the Home Depot. I understand there are expected delays due to COVID but 12 weeks is absolutely insane not to mention how inaccessible the staff are! Please go elsewhere for home installations. This has been one of my worst experiences.

I wish my experience so far was as good as the rating on this site. In my case, I set this up, kitchen cabinet refacing, new countertops, and a new sink, back in late April and have little information about when this will take place. After the initial meeting and second person coming out to measure, I finally received a call from the countertop company last week to schedule a third measure. I see these take an average of 4-12 weeks, but I don't have a date yet or even an idea when this will be scheduled. When I contacted my original rep, he simply replied that he didn't know the schedule. If I'd known how this would go, I would have worked with someone else. Hopefully the actual remodel...
