Celebrating the Friday co*cktail {Recipe: Friday Night Coffee} (2024)

Jump to Recipe -

Ahhhh… Friday nights. This past Friday night I was in my PJ’s and in bed by 7pm. In fact, I had called a friend and left a voicemail at 5 to see if she wanted to come over for a glass of wine. I didn’t hear from her until 6:30 – and she was all ready to come over to welcome the weekend with me. Problem was, I was in my PJ’s and in bed, 2 glasses of wine done with the night. The past season of Grey’s Anatomy and I had a rockin’ evening together though. And you know what? It was absolutely perfect.

I’ve become *that* person who likes to stay in, with a book or movie and a co*cktail on a Friday night. When did that happen?

Someone else out there likes my kind of Friday nights too. My friend Barb has shared a widely popular Friday co*cktail on her blog each week for a year now. Today, a group of us are celebrating her one year Friday co*cktail by sharing some of our favorite co*cktails. Head over to Barb’s blog for the complete roundup…and wish her happy day by leaving a comment or sending her a tweet @Fridayco*cktails. Did I mention she has prizes? Oh yes, lots and lots of great prizes. Stop by and say hi!

Before you do, here is my contribution… I’m calling it Friday Night Coffee. I love coffee, I love simple co*cktails and I love Friday nights. Hence, Friday Night Coffee.

Cheers to your weekend!

This looks like the perfect Friday Night Coffee to me, Kristen. I’m with you on “when did I become that person?”. I’ve noticed that I’m ready to be in bed by 7 just about every night lately. I’m starting to think my body is absolutely ready for the time to change – just not in the mornings! 🙂

Not being a big co*cktail drinker (other than Amaretto) this is the perfect evening drink for me! Even though I’ve been retired for a few years, Friday nights are still my favourite of the week. I never even knew that they made Kahlua Peppermint Mocha! I imagine it tastes wonderful with the Baileys and coffee!

I have to go there. Friday Night Lights coffee maybe. Ah…this coffee, the coach and snuggled in bed? Perfect. Of course with him on TV silly (or maybe not!!)

Thanks so much for participating in my celebration…now I need this coffee. I need a bigger bar you know? It’s packed to the gills and yet I have no Peppermint Mocha Kahlua. I have Peppermint Mocha cocoa though and so yes, I will go there, albeit a bit different route. I’m supposed to be going out for dinner…now I just want to follow your lead! Have a great weekend.

This sounds divine! Two of my favorite things – coffee and liquor – paired together! I haven’t seen Kahula Peppermint Mocha though – adding to my list right now!
I’m right there with you, Kristen – at some point I’ve also become an “I’d rather stay in on Friday nights” gal too. Even if we’re in on Friday nights, I do enjoy a glass of wine (or 2) or a co*cktail as I unwind from the week!

Beautiful photo, Kristen! I admittedly LOVE Friday nights in, especially when you can share them with a good friend or a few sitting around talking the night away. All the better, I’m sure, with coffee like this!! 🙂
