I had so much fun putting together this spring inspired table! I am joining a few friends for a virtual brunch and this month is all about Spring. And, I want to share how to create a neutral spring tablescape.

I really enjoyed getting creative with this one using mainly things I already had.
Since my home is all neutral colors, I wanted to create a beautiful table for the Spring season that I could leave out for a while.
Follow along and let me share ideas for how to create a neutral spring tablescape.
When you are decorating a table, I recommend beginning with an inspiration piece. For this table, my inspiration was the egg flats I used as plate chargers. I got them several years ago from a restaurant.
You can ask a local restaurant (especially one that you frequent) if they have any they are getting rid of. Most likely, they will give them to you.
However, if you would rather not bother with that, you can find some here. They are super inexpensive and add visual interest and uniqueness to your table.

Layered pieces add a lot of character to home decor. I like to incorporate layers into my tablescapes, as well.
For this spring/Easter table my first layer was a placemat. I already had these square woven placemats and thought the texture and color would be great for this table.
I added my egg flats on top of the woven chargers for my next layer.
When I think of Spring, I immediately think of Easter, flowers, eggs, bunnies, etc. So, I thought the egg flats were a perfect layer and addition.
Next up, was the layering of plates. I have a collection of brown transferware and decided to go with that for my dinner plate. They looked beautiful with my neutral bunny salad plates, which was the top layer.
Off white napkins were tied with a narrow brown/white grograin ribbon and topped off with a stem of “real touch” tulips. Don’t these tulips look so real?
To finish off each place setting, I added an egg stamped with each guests name. They are nestled in moss inside a vintage stemmed martini glass and placed bedside each plate.

Next up, I needed a centerpiece that would coordinate nicely with my theme and place settings. I remembered I had a large box of moss I had ordered for another project. So, I arranged a slightly irregular shape in the center of the table with the moss.
My daughter recently gifted me with a large round woven basket tray, so I added that on top of the moss.
Side note, you can obviously add the basket to your table first, then spread a bit of moss around it to conserve the amount of moss you use.
I’ve had this cute concrete bunny for years, and he was the first to go into the tray. I layed a few of the “real touch” tulips in his basket.
For some height, I added a potted english ivy that is growing on a topiary. A large grapevine birds nest filled with book page decoupaged eggs was added to my display and a potted flowering plant was tucked in to fill in the remaining space.
